Our Practice in Port Moody

Dr. Yee is the owner and fearless leader of Port Moody Eye Care. She graduated from Simon Fraser University with a degree in biochemistry in 1993 before pursuing her Doctor of Optometry degree; graduating from Oregon’s Pacific University in 1997. Dr. Yee’s passion for the science of contact lenses led her to complete her residency at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1998, specializing in cornea and contact lenses.

As a mother of two, Dr. Sarah Yee is proud to support her 9-year-old and 11-year-old’s academic and athletic pursuits. One of her favourite pastimes is cheering for her boys at swim meets and hockey games.

Dr. Yee likes to spend her downtime relaxing and enjoying her favourite show, “This Is Us”.

Dr. Oikawa attended Simon Fraser University before joining the University of Waterloo’s School of Optometry. She graduated with honours in 2000. Over the span of her academic career, Dr. Oikawa has received a number of impressive accolades, including the Dean’s List, the President’s Award for Academic Excellence, and the Governor General’s Medal.

Since joining the Port Moody Eye Care Team in 2010, Dr. Oikawa has fallen in love with the community we serve. When she’s not at work, she likes to put her artistic genius to use through a variety of different channels and spend time with her lovely family.

As our receptionist and office manager, Kim C is the face of Port Moody Eye Care, and she represents us beautifully. She has a bubbly personality and a passion for making every single one of our patients feel welcome. Kim graduated from Thomson University in Kamloops, although she prefers to keep the year she graduated classified.

When Kim isn’t brightening up our office with her smile, she’s spending time with her 2 sons, her husband, and her puppy, Sadie. Before coming to her current home in Coquitlam, Kim lived all over Canada, including Montreal, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Salmon Arm.

Linda is our receptionist and another great representation of who we are and what we do. Linda is always ready to greet our patients with a friendly smile and hello. Linda graduated from Montreal’s Vanier College with a degree in Language Arts. While she was attending school, Linda kept herself busy with gymnastics, drama, and photography clubs.

Linda is a big fan of 90’s sitcoms, an era in which TV shows like Frasier and Seinfeld were artfully written and skillfully acted. Her favourite quote is “Nothing created by man can rival anything created by nature”.

Mahsa is our Lab Technician and manager; it’s her job to make sure our optics lab stays organized and on schedule, and she’s great at it!

Mahsa attended Douglas College in 2011, where she made the Dean’s List. After graduation, Mahsa came to join the Port Moody Eye Care Team. Thanks to her organization and attention to detail, our optics lab runs like a well-oiled machine.

As another one of our amazing opticians and contact lens fitter, Kim uses her excellent attention to detail to ensure your prescription is exactly right before you take your glasses or contact lenses home. Kim attended Douglas College from 1992 to 1994, where she enjoyed a stint in the photography club. She returned to Douglas College in 1996 for 2 years to study sign language.

In 2010, Kim returned to school once more, training with the BC College of Opticians to become an optician and contact lens fitter.

Kim is industrious and passionate about helping people. We’re very grateful to have her on our team.

Kate is another wonderful member of our team and is a great technician. She studied Sciences at UBC and her years of experience with medical machinery allows for our patients to feel confident in her skills. Her outgoing personality brings smiles to all of our patients.

Kate lives in the area and enjoys seeing friendly patients who know her quite well coming in as patients to the clinic. During her free time, she loves spending time with her family and friends!

Having a bachelor of Microbiology, Sanaz has always  been interested in science. When she started her carrier in the optical field in 2014, she developed a passion for helping people enjoy a lifetime of healthy eyes while looking fashionable.  She graduated as a licensed optician and contact lens fitter with honours from Douglas College, BC.

When Sanaz is not working, she loves spending time with her family and being in nature.

Rochelle is one of our excellent opticians and contact lens fitters. She makes sure your glasses are made with the utmost care and precision, and gives you contact lenses that are custom fit for your eyes for comfort and functionality.

When she’s not hard at work in our dispensary, Rochelle likes to spend her time outdoors or with her family.
